Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Highway Engineer to join a highway and infrastructure project team in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
The selected candidate will be responsible for supervising and monitoring highway and road construction activities, ensuring execution according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project schedules.
The role requires strong practical knowledge of highway construction, site execution, measurements, contractor coordination, quality control and project documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor daily highway and road construction activities at the project site.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, supervisors, survey teams and site staff.
- Monitor earthwork, embankment, subgrade and pavement construction activities.
- Monitor GSB, WMM, DBM, BC and other pavement layer activities wherever applicable.
- Coordinate with the survey team for alignment, levels, gradients, camber and setting-out activities.
- Monitor construction quality and ensure proper workmanship at the project site.
- Check quantities and maintain accurate site measurements and records.
- Monitor daily progress and report project delays or site-related issues.
- Read and interpret civil and highway drawings before and during execution.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams to maintain required project quality standards.
- Ensure proper implementation of site safety procedures and traffic-management practices.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports and maintain project documentation.
- Coordinate manpower, materials and equipment requirements with the project team.
- Identify construction problems and coordinate corrective actions with relevant teams.
- Support timely completion of construction activities while maintaining quality and safety.
Candidate Requirements
- 4–5 years of relevant experience in highway or road construction.
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering preferred.
- Practical knowledge of highway construction and site execution.
- Good understanding of civil engineering drawings and site measurements.
- Experience in contractor and site-team coordination.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively at project sites.
- Immediate joiners are preferred.
